The Quirks of a Writer

The past couple of weeks, I have been working really hard to meet a short story deadline for a publishing friend and writer-in-kind.

The frustration was that I spent two weeks writing the story just to graze word count.

The funniest thing was I wasn’t even struggling to write the story. It was a steady flow. It was like the minutes turned into hours, the hours turned into twelve days of good steady writing.

Where the hell did the time go? I have to ask. Because I then turned around after I finished that story last Thursday (literally right after I finished the story) and wrote three essays of an accumulative word count and finished the three in less than three hours.

The last couple of days, I have been working a short story also of the same length. I finished it in less than two days.

I will be editing it tonight and sending it off tomorrow.
